The work for 2018-2019 looked quite simple:
- Remove the copper hatch edging and slides, clean, lacquer and re-fit
- Investigate and address the brown stained water that appears to be entering cuddy through the deck.
- Remove the deck cleats, seal holes through deck and re-fit.
- Remove the internal cuddy wooden slats / trim.
- Number / label as appropriate – to aid refitting
- Clean behind them to remove stain marks and other dirt/dust
- Sand the slats then oil them
- Refit the slats
- Create and attach engine panel protector: two vertical wooden rails with a horizontal perspex shield
- Remove, clean, lubricate and replace engine cover latches.
- Polish the topsides / hull – as in previous years
- Anti-foul the hull – as in previous years
As always, reality has overtaken us… photos and details to follow
I should add that Simon’s 2018 repairs to Serina’s mast and tiller have been a great success, so there isn’t any need to do anything on them this winter.
