Swallow visits Lymington – August/September 2018

I walked down to Lymington Town railway station in early August and noticed a familiar pretty shape in the Haven Quay yard:

Swallow was visiting Lymington for some repair work with Simon Beaven at Quayside Marine.

Simon introduced me to Swallow‘s owner, Nigel Manning, who had brought her down so Simon could work on her. Here are some photos of the work.

Refurbished center-plate

Improved gudgeons, washers and rudder stabiliser fins.

Nigel lives some way from Lymington and I contacted him to see if he would like to go for a sail when he came down to Lymington to collect Swallow.

He was able to adjust his plans and spend a week sailing on the Solent. Serina and Swallow sailed together to Yarmouth and Newtown on September 4th, and then Nigel sailed with his family on the Solent for the remainder of the week.
